This stunning Three Birds Renovations makeover reveals a modern family home, complete with a transformative roof restoration using Dulux Acratex to complete its light, bright new exterior.
The cottage’s structure was retained with the Three Birds undertaking a total style refresh, replacing window treatments, updating cladding and creating a new outdoor terraced area. The application of an earthy colour palette and clever use of space and materials instantly modernise the home, to create an inner-city haven.
Light and bright
Three Birds Renovations' vision was to create a contemporary dream home, using warm, neutral colours and simple finishes. The Windsor Cottage in Sydney had a cement tiled roof that was old and worn, with cracked tiles and a dark brown paint finish beginning to fade with age.
A complete roof restoration process was undertaken by expert roofing applicators to revitalise the roof through a process of repairing and replacing loose and cracked tiles, pressure cleaning and priming the entire roof, finished off by the application of a double layer of Dulux Acratex Roof Membrane in a fresh neutral paint colour inspired by mist from the sea and snow-white sand.
The finished roof perfectly complements the exterior colour palette and elevates the entire home, now affectionately called "Windsor Castle" by its owners.
Creating a statement roof
Thinking outside the traditional roof colour norms, Three Birds Renovations created a bold statement, selecting a roof colour in Surfmist® from the Colorbond® colour range to complete the home's transformation. Instantly enhancing its façade, the clean white roof makes a strong impact, complementing the rest of the home’s exterior featuring Dulux White Dune cladding, Dulux Pozieres detailing and a tiled alfresco extension.
